Davos, February 8 – Kentaro held a special charity dinner at the World Economic Forum in Davos to raise awareness for the United Against Malaria (UAM) campaign. UAM is a partnership of football teams, celebrities, health organisations, governments and corporations who have united ahead of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa to win the fight against malaria. The goal is to galvanize partners throughout the world to become "malaria-free" and help reach the United Nations target of universal access to mosquito nets and malaria medicine in Africa by the end of 2010. Founding partners include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, among others. “We are determined to support UAM in its ambitious quest to fight malaria,” said Kentaro CEO Philippe Huber. “The dinner at the World Economic Forum helped to raise awareness among top decision-makers in the industry. We will continue to back UAM before, during and after the World Cup to save millions of children.”
Famous politicians like David Cameron and football legends such as Emmanuel Petit and Lucas Radebe all attended the dinner.
