Boxing TV Rights
Within the world of boxing, Kentaro exclusively markets the international TV rights of leading European boxing promoter, Sauerland Event. Kentaro also represents Sauerland Event's marketing and sponsorship activities. Some of Sauerland’s current boxers include former WBA World Heavyweight Champion Nikolai 'The Russian Giant' Valuev, former IBF World Middleweight Champion 'King' Arthur Abraham, WBO Cruiserweight Champion Marco ‘Captain’ Huck, WBC Super Middleweight Champion Mikkel Kessler, IBF Middleweight Champion Sebastian Sylvester and 2004 Olympic Heavyweight Champion Alexander Povetkin.
Kentaro also markets the international TV rights for the inaugural Super Six World Boxing, a ground-breaking, six-fighter tournament featuring the class of the super middleweight (168-pound) division from around the world. The participants are Sauerland fighters Abraham and Kessler as well as WBC Champion Carl Froch, WBA Champion Andre Ward, up-and-coming Andre Dirrell and former undisputed champion Jermain Taylor. All bouts in the Super Six tournament will be contested under the Unified Rules of Boxing. Each boxer fights three bouts against different opponents in the field in the points-based Group Stage of competition (Win – 2 pts with a 1-pt bonus for KO/TKO; Loss – 0 pts; Draw – 1 pt.). After the Group Stage, the four fighters with the highest point totals will advance to the single-elimination Semi-Finals. The winners of the Semi-Final bouts will advance to the Finals and fight for the inaugural Super Six World Boxing Classic trophy.
In 2008, Kentaro introduced a special five-hour live international feed from Sauerland Event shows. The feed includes event trailers, international graphics and an information package for the international takers. Ringside commentary positions as well as on-site studios are also available.
Together with Sauerland Event, Kentaro has amassed a boxing archive of more than 150 World Championship fights which include such classics as Henry Maske vs. Graciano Rocchigiani, Axel Schulz vs. Michael Moorer, Arthur Abraham vs. Kingsley Ikeke, Henry Maske vs. Virgil Hill, Nikolai Valuev vs. Monte Barrett, Sven Ottke vs. Byron Mitchell, Markus Beyer vs. Danny Green II, Nikolai Valuev vs. John Ruiz I & II and Arthur Abraham vs. Edison Miranda I & II, Nikolai Valuev vs. Evander Holyfield and Valuev vs. Haye.
